You need it just to Show up in the first place
We’ve all heard some level of discussion or another regarding the basic premise that SEO will help your business a great deal. The first, and most obvious, benefit immediately comes to mind. Your business will show up on Google when people search for similar services in your city. SEO will make you show up. It doesn’t matter what the connecting words in the search inquiry are if a consumer enters a string that includes your service and the city’s name, your business will show up within the first page of results. It would be a little nicer if SEO could do more than simply make you show up, wouldn’t it? Let’s first consider who it is that might be showing up.
A Large Net: Attractive on the Surface
Everybody could be showing up! While that might seem attractive on the surface, consider that almost all companies have a particular niche within their larger field. This is simply business school 101 type knowledge. Basic SEO, if done efficiently, could literally bring about every consumer within your city that is looking for your particular service in general. It can do this without considering the needs of either the target customer or those of your business. What if your business doesn’t operate well outside of its specific niche clientele? What type of time and effort will be expended turning away the potential customers that do not meet your business model? What level of time and effort will be spent turning away those potential customers that really weren’t quite interested enough? These are the questions that make the largest net theory less attractive to most business owners.
Refining the basic SEO Strategy
The idea behind this modified strategy is that we get not only potential customers but specified targeted potentials. Much less time will be spent on weeding out the non-qualifiers if we get only the niche base coming through our front door, right? Some business owners mistakenly think of this as shrinking their net. You’re not shrinking your net, you’re growing a full-sized net around the most qualified results. This has several key advantages with the most paramount being a higher level of turnover from within your traffic results. What’s the use of a whole lot of traffic if very little of it turns over into actual consumers? Absolutely none! The net effect is simply using up valuable resources to filter through the traffic as we previously discussed.
This is where a Detailed Intensive Strategy Comes into Play

How exactly do you build your bigger net? Think about this; some consumers might be potentials that are more attracted to concepts involving your niche rather than your particular service in general. All of the sudden these guys realize that they are on the market for your service now that you’ve engaged them with it. Do you see what’s been done? The net has grown deeper and more efficient than simply wider or larger around the surface parameter. This net brings more actual dollars to a business than the one with the larger parameter. SEO is much more than showing up indeed.
